Do you fancy setting yourself a personal challenge this year? And in the process, raise money to help keep children safe in Zambia?
A huge thank you to Rachel Baker who at, (not a young age!), climbed Snowdon with Hannah’s brother last week. She has raised an incredible approximate £1000 for Tehila activities.
This could train a further 90 community leaders and teachers on how to keep children safe. Once trained they can embark on our mentoring programme helping them implement their learning. Once an established ‘child-safe’ church or organisation, they can join the city wide ‘Safe Places for children Network’ which is being launched in August this year! Amazing.
This £1000 will have a huge impact. A heart felt and massive thank you to all who have sponsored Rachel financially, to Rachel for accomplishing the climb and for Hannah’s brother for journeying with her. We love you both loads!
This was on the back of a Tehila cake sale held at Kerith church earlier this month and an Easter fun day. Thank you to Alex Moon, Clare Hulme and everyone else involved. The money raised and given in perfect timing enabled us to carry out a key and strategic meeting with 60 people representing 30 of our partners last week (blog to follow with more details). Very exciting.
Sam’s university friend Dave Gale is doing the Fan Dance race in June which is a gruelling 24km non-navigational race over two sides of the Pen Y Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons. This infamous route has long been a part of the SAS selection programme. We will let you know how he gets on! All the best Dave!
So how about a challenge ? What would you do? How about your children? Would they be up for raising money for other children ? Could you do a family challenge and adventure, whilst at the same time raising money for a worth while cause? It would be good to know your creative thoughts. It may inspire others to get involved.
Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks again Alex, Clare and Kerith Church, Rachel and Dave. We really appreciate you and your support.
Have a great week.
